CALL DESCRIPTION:
Paper has served as the support for an extraordinarily diverse body of work since its invention in 2nd century China, from drawing and painting to collage and beyond. Our inspiration at Paper Circle, for this exhibition, is the fact that paper has evolved to be the artwork itself in its simplest and most complex form. All artworks drawn, painted or otherwise created on paper using a variety of media will be considered. This includes, but is not limited to, drawing using pastel, watercolor, ink, charcoal, painting on paper, printmaking, collage, book arts, artist books, 3D artwork, and paper art. The Sara Gilfert Award in the amount of $300 in honor of Paper Circle's founder Sara Gilfert.
We are proud to announce Dard Hunter as our juror for "Works on Paper" 2025. Dard was a close personal friend of our founder Sara Gilfert and has continued to be a supporter of Paper Circle.
